Cultural trip to Tulum

One of the trips that have given me more knowledge during all my visits to the Mexican Republic was undoubtedly Tulum. Where I learned a lot of exciting things about the Mayan culture and everything that represented the city for those who lived there and why it is still such an important cultural symbol.

Besides the beauty of the site, each of the constructions in the archaeological area has a deep meaning that you will love to know. Like the wall, they had built to protect themselves against pirates and so on.

Tulum is located 30 minutes away from Playa del Carmen, so for anyone visiting the site, it’s probably much easier to get a Cancun Car Rental by city Car rental service to get around quickly. If you acquire a Playa del Carmen car rental service  could also be a good idea if you want to get there much faster.

Previously it was believed that the Mayans only built Tulum since the chronology of time gives a background of the same in the area. Still, according to historical accounts and the years that the Spanish went to colonize these areas, it can be understood that it was not necessarily the Mayans who built the entire archaeological site. Still, the place came people from other cultures who were dedicated to complement the construction of the Mayans based on the knowledge they had applied in different techniques.

Facts about Tulum.

One of the most important points that you have to know about Tulum is that previously this was a fortress that housed the most prestigious families of the site, children of emperors, and influential leaders of the site. Also, Tulum was considered one of the essential places to offer sacrifices and ceremonies of religious nature to the Mayan gods.

Nowadays, the small constructions of the area are not allowed to enter due to the maintenance and protection of them. However, you can take pictures and walk very close to each of the locations of the area; it is also not allowed to take any of the artifacts or stones of the area because all of them are part of the history of the site.

Within the same area, you can visit Playa Paraiso, one of the most popular beaches in the area, where you can enjoy a super relaxing swim in the sea, for this you will have to go down the wooden stairs located on one side of the archaeological zone.

What is the best season to visit Tulum?

Tulum is an incredible site that you can visit almost any time of the year. Still, this time I recommend you visit the archaeological site during the summer, autumn, and winter seasons since spring is when it rains the most. You probably will not enjoy your trip the way you had planned.

Before traveling to cities like Tulum, don’t forget that it will be a good idea to acquire a map of the place where you can move easily.

Enjoy your trip to Tulum, and don’t forget to ask your tour guide lots of questions!
